This is general preparation guidance. A service described here is not a claim that INTWARI offers it; confirm its availability and terms with the SACCO.
Saving with a purpose
Separate everyday money, an emergency reserve and longer-term goals. Access conditions can differ.
- Accessible savings: ask about minimum balances, interest and withdrawal limits.
- Regular saving: match contributions to income dates and ask how to change the plan.
- Term deposits: understand the maturity date and the consequences of early withdrawal.
Understand the full cost
One fee does not describe the whole cost. Request a dated tariff and compare it against your expected usage.
- Ask about opening, closing, monthly, transfer and withdrawal charges.
- For credit, request total repayment, any insurance cost and other applicable charges.
- Check early-repayment and late-payment terms in the written agreement.
A prepared borrowing decision
Review what remains after essential spending and existing debts. Also consider a lower-income month.
- Write down the loan purpose and the source of repayments.
- Request a schedule separating principal, interest and charges for each instalment.
- Understand collateral and guarantor obligations; ask for an explanation before signing.
Records that support your business
A simple, regular record helps you explain how your activity works.
- Separate household and business money; record income and spending.
- Keep receipts, customer and supplier balances, and stock records.
- Match harvest or sales dates to payment dates and plan a reserve.
Sending and receiving money
Before confirming, check the recipient, the amount expected to arrive and the total cost.
- Ask which provider the institution supports, expected timing and how to track the transfer.
- If currency conversion is involved, compare the rate and fees and confirm the recipient amount.
- Keep the receipt; if something goes wrong, use the provider’s verified support channel.
Stay alert and know where to ask
Pause when a message creates urgency or asks for secrets or an advance payment to unlock a prize.
- Keep your PIN, one-time codes and password private. Independently verify the address and contact.
- If you suspect fraud or loss, record the time and evidence and contact the institution promptly.
- For a complaint, state what happened, the resolution you want and how to reply; ask how to follow up.
Turn questions into a plan.
